A renowned "wise Man" lived in a Town.
Some resented His Wisdom and popularity and one Man decided to act against Him out of Envy.
He created a rumour to discredit the "Wise Man" that had no truth at the Heart of it.
He quickly realised His foolishness and feared the backlash.
He went to the "Wise Man" claiming remorse for this foolishness and sought forgiveness.
The "Wise Man" said before He could forgive this wrong and unkind act His accuser must do something.
He gave Him a pillow full of 1000 feathers and asked that it be ripped and spread in the Town Square.
This was done in search of forgiveness.
The accuser returned and was told one more act would gain full forgiveness.
"Go back to the square" asked the wise Man.
"Collect every last feather and bring them back to me and my forgiveness is complete"
Moral of the Story:
Its almost impossible to stop the damage once we act deliberately against the reputation of another.
The action can seldom be taken back and relationships and our own reputation become severely damaged.
