Is it me Dan....or are people watching us!

Yep, I think we have to give way on the consensus for this one Dan. We do look pretty serious!
That said,it is of course true.
Very serious about social and economic issues in both Barnsley and South Yorkshire in general.
As Member of Parliament for Barnsley Central, Dan Jarvis knows that Politics will never fix the Ills of Society.
The solution is not in Westminster.
What makes our relationship, and I hope our Friendship firm, is that I do not do Politics and Dan can see beyond them too.
It’s a healthy and Impartial stance.
People are what matter and local communities face some grim challenges right now. Working together never mattered more.
“I don’t know about you Dan but being serious is thirsty work. Do you fancy a Pint?”
There, I knew that would work.
Back to being serious tomorrow.

What you say has Power - But beware of Damaging Others

An old jewish tale well illustrates the consequences of spreading hurtful gossip. Told in various forms, the gist of story is as follows.
A man went about town slandering the town's wise man. Later, the malicious gossiper realized his wrong and went to the wise man to ask for forgiveness, offering to do whatever was necessary to make amends. The wise man had one request: The gossiper was told to go and take a feather pillow and cut it open, scattering the feathers to the wind. Though puzzled by the request, the gossiper did as he was instructed and then returned to the wise man.
"Am i now forgiven?" he asked.
"First, go and gather all the feathers," the wise man responded.
"But how can i? The wind has already scattered them."
"It is as difficult to repair the damage done by your words as it is to recover the feathers."
The lesson is clear. Once spoken, words cannot be retrieved, and it may be impossible to undo the hurt they cause. Before spreading a bit of gossip,we are wise to remember that we are, in effect, about to scatter feather in the wind.

Growing up so quick....

Who could Imagine that 16 Years would pass so quickly.
My Grandson Brad (on right) got great exam results and now will study Public Services en route to His chosen career in the Police Service.
He will be a credit to the Service being a well balanced, fair and decent person.
This photo is His "leaving do" at School.
He has the ability to achieve much but will always be popular for His sincerity.
We have enormous pride in Him.

I value my "Crackpot" Friends and Family!

An elderly Chinese woman had two large pots, each hung on the ends of a pole which she carried across her neck. One of the pots had a crack in it while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water.
At the end of the long walks from the stream to the house, the cracked pot arrived only half full.
For a full two years this went on daily, with the woman bringing home only one and a half pots of water..
Of course, the perfect pot was
proud of its accomplishments. But the poor cracked pot was ashamed  of its own imperfection, and miserable that it could only do half of what it had been made to do
After two years of what it perceived to be bitter failure, it spoke to the woman one day by the stream.
'I am ashamed of myself, because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your house.'
The old woman smiled, 'Did you notice that there are flowers on your side of the path, but not on the other pot's side?'

'That's because I have always known about your flaw, so I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back, you water them.'
For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate the table.
Without you being just the way you are, there would not be this beauty to grace the house.'
Each of us has our own unique flaw. But it's the cracks and flaws we each have that make our lives together so very interesting and rewarding..
You've just got to take each person for what they are and look for the good in them.

SO, to all of my cracked pot friends, have a great day and remember to smell the flowers on your side of the path!
