An elderly Chinese woman had two large pots, each hung on the ends of a pole which she carried across her neck. One of the pots had a crack in it while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water.
At the end of the long walks from the stream to the house, the cracked pot arrived only half full.
For a full two years this went on daily, with the woman bringing home only one and a half pots of water..
Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments. But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection, and miserable that it could only do half of what it had been made to do
After two years of what it perceived to be bitter failure, it spoke to the woman one day by the stream.
'I am ashamed of myself, because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your house.'
The old woman smiled, 'Did you notice that there are flowers on your side of the path, but not on the other pot's side?'
'That's because I have always known about your flaw, so I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back, you water them.'
For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate the table.
Without you being just the way you are, there would not be this beauty to grace the house.' Each of us has our own unique flaw. But it's the cracks and flaws we each have that make our lives together so very interesting and rewarding..
You've just got to take each person for what they are and look for the good in them.
SO, to all of my cracked pot friends, have a great day and remember to smell the flowers on your side of the path!

Your Eyes make you Vulnerable
Did you know that your Eyes work to bring both good and bad to you.
The Human body is largely sealed apart from areas like Ears, Nose,Mouth and Eyes.
Its these areas that enable viruses to enter your body.
The Eyes are accepted as a key area of Intrusion because we are prone to touching them a lot.
Its an interesting analogy then that the eyes also trip us up in other ways too.
What we see with our eyes produces desire.
They produce an early reaction of want with no thought to whether we actually need what we see.
Before long we can be paying the price.
It seems we need to see our Eyes as leaving us vulnerable in many ways....but how will you keep an Eye on them!

Slavery...still around in the 21st Century
One aspect of Inhumanity that has always bothered me is the dominance of some World powers that enslaved people.
Roman and Greek societies are typical of cultures who demanded slaves.
It was as common then as having a car today.
A slave would be owned and could only be freed with consent or by payment of their agreed value.
Today I find one form of slavery unusual, that of smoking.
A person volunteers to become a slave to tobacco and then pays the Master for the privilege!
Volunteering to be dominated goes against all sense.
The outcome is self Inflicted hardship.
It seems that slavery, having been legally abolished, has found more subtle ways to take control of lives for convenience and profit.
Smokers are one step from Freedom...so take it.

One accident I do not believe in!
Today I was told I was an accident!
I should hasten to add that this was in no way a criticism of my parents.
It was an assertion that I Evolved.
Apparently its a scientific fact.
Really?
What happened to the accepted principle of cause and effect then?
Simply put, an effect must be at least the same or greater than the cause.
If I Evolved that means something Inferior produced something superior.(No jokes please)
The Human Body is very complex, something we pay little respect for.
A watch,a car or a plane has much less complexity but I have never doubted they each must have a designer.
You dont know the designer of your house but would you doubt there was one!
Trust me..I am no accident.
And neither are you.

Friend of Barnsley
Tim CheethamClassic Yorkshireman.Dad to 3 Human/Stress hybrids.
Thats how Tim describes Himself on Twitter @CllrTim
It reveals, yet also hides much about Tim.
He is Certainly a Classic Yorkshireman and I dont think He is referring to His age!
He Loves His Family and in His Wife Tracey they make a formidable couple.
He is both strong minded and strong willed.
Happy to accept not everyone agrees with Him, He retains a sense of Humour.
Beyond His Family He has one very clear passion.
A Love for His Town....Barnsley.
Sometimes it may seem to Tracey that there are days She comes second to this Town but together they work hard to better peoples situation.
Tims the sort to be a best Friend. He will accept the rough and smooth of you...so long as you do the same with Him.
He will tell you what He thinks and you can tell Him what you think back.
So long as you are on the side of His Town..theres a place for you in Barnsley.
